Bomb explodes near Cairo Church...
We’re talking about a church smack in the middle of quite a densely Christian populated area..Al Zaytoon.
A church that is down in Egyptian History as one that witnessed an Apparition of the Virgin Mary back in 1968. An apparition verified by many Muslims and Christians alike!

I heard there were initially two bombs, one that went off and another that was stopped or just didn’t explode for some reason. The bomb was in a car parked near/outside the church as a wedding ceremony was taking place inside.

Anyway, news sources say the explosion was obviously intended as a scare rather than an intention to kill. Which is sad really, because in this situation it’s clearly an intention to scare an ENTIRE group of people. Church + Zaytoon = A bunch of Christians.

This is a minority that by now, has probably grown immune to this BS! Whether it’s governmental crackdowns or societal discrimination or human right violations or sectarian violence, this Minority’s skin is a little tougher than that I think.

Crazy man stabbing people randomly in church, or girls having sulphuric acid thrown at their faces and chests for wearing crosses, or thrown under subway trains etc. etc.

I must honestly say that:
a) I believe the Christian Minority to be more than 10%, but no one will ever actually count!
b) The Christian population is a lot more spread out across Egypt than that! lol
c) Aggression near a place of worship is a downright declaration of war. WHAT THE HELL?!? What are these people thinking?

I honestly want to know? What is the purpose here? Do we want Egypt to be void of non-muslims? Do we want them to go extinct? Do we want them to live in fear and continuously hang their heads low?

Oh wait, I forgot, let’s not blame the Muslims for this one. Here’s objectivity for you, perhaps it’s some crazy Christian guy with a grudge and wanted to marry the bride or something, perhaps it’s completely random, and hey, perhaps it’s like the national paper said, it was just an electric fire from faulty fuse wirings in the car.
You know something? I HOPE it’s any of these lame reasons instead.

Perhaps westerners should respond with like behavior towards Mosques and other Muslim facilities throughout Europe & the U.S.? Don't harm the Muslims. Just damage the structures in the middle of the night. Just to send a little 'message'.

What? Like they do to synagogues and Jewish cemeteries? No thanks, I won't stoop to their level.

Yes, of course, this was done by someone who obviously believes in that "religion of pieces"; you know, the ones who show no tolerance except for their own evil and then are "offended" like crybabies over anyone who objects to their terrorist mentality. Don't like the pope visiting the Holy Land, bomb a church. Yea, that's the ticket. How surprised they will be when they die.

It's really very sad to see religious violence against other religions. Where is the freedom of worship? What type of religion that allows violence and aggression. A true religion promotes peace and love.

LOL yeah you already blamed the mouslims falsely for something they didnt do just because it happened besides a church, You are actually assuming that the mouslims have nothing better to do but to blow the car of every chrisitian. isnt that quite absurd.

Anyway regarding that incident, i read its full report in the paper and it turned out to be a failture in the car’s wires which caused the sound of that bombing.

So before jumping to false accusation and causing unnecessary chaos, check ur sources first and stop blaming the mouslims.

actuallly.......I recommend you read other sources too :) you know for objectivity purposes? I also recommend you dig into it a little more and not take the ’national paper’s’ words for granted because they’re not known to be the most reliable source out there y’know?
Like urm...call someone who was there? Ask an eye witness...etc?
I do not jump to conclusions, i state facts. And as I said, perhaps this had nothing to do with secular tension, and I really hope that’s the case.

lollllll @ ” I HOPE it’s any of these lame reasons ” it doesn’t seem that’re really hoping that lol, anyways...

1st of all: unfortunatly in every faith and in every race there r bad people just like there r good people and there are extremists too this is a fact , sadly extremists exist all over the globe from all religions and beliefs, if that incident u wrote about is a truely racist act targeting copts particulary or non muslims generaly then i’m totally completely against it exactly like i’m against any racism happening anywhere in the world against muslims or against anyone else and that really happens it really does .

SO there r christian extremists and racists and jewish extremists and racists , hindus , buddhists , wicans, atheists and agnostics etc,i really HOPE i oneday not read someone claiming that the KKK r muslims.

2nd of all: unfortunatly minorities in every country have problems not only in Egypt.

finally why generalize ????? why spread hatred??? isn’t prejudice a tool of the devil?!

in case anyone don’t or can’t believe me i’m ready to prove every word i said here, i can bring examples with its sources too.

Thank u, looking forward to read more from u :)

btw, i didn’t spread a thing. I didn’t accuse anyone. I didn’t claim one religion was peaceful while another wasn’t, I didn’t claim the absence of extremism from one religion versus the other. You don’t know me, hence you don’t know what I hope for and what I don’t. I do know there are minorities in every country, and they’re discriminated against too, some minorities in some countries are actually majority by number, but minority in other ways, like women!
So far, you haven’t told me a thing i don’t know, and I’m sure nothing no one around here doesn’t know either.
Your point?

oh and prejudice is not the tool of the devil! lol
it’s the result of ignorance and intentional irrational thinking. No devil vs. God here..

I agree that all religions have extremists but the extremists in Islam are upto some nasty stuff. I don't think i have to explain anything on this.

2nd: Your other point is valid and acceptable that minorities do suffer everywhere. I take it.

hi again, i wasn’t trying to tell u or anyone else anything new i was just stating facts hoping u don’t think all muslims r terrorists who hate every non-muslims in Egypt or in any other country:) ,so i was in a friendly way trying to tell u that u shouldn’t think you’re targeted by all muslims because that’s not happening .

thank u for replying me :)

it’s sad that you assumed that I’m stating that all muslims are terrorists, it’s even sadder than you think I’m a non-muslim and I think i’m ’targeted’...
I reserve the right to make state these opinions and observation without it having to do anything with my religion, and not having it even come into question.

Well, I heard that if a church is damaged in Egypt, they are not allowed to rebuild or repair it, is that true? I also heard that no new churches are allowed to be built. Anyone know if this is correct or not?
1 Stars
The truth is, it’s very difficult for a new church to be built in Egypt. It happens, for example in new compounds and newly constructed towns that are currently surfacing in the suburbs.
Yet it is much harder, almost impossible, for a new church to be built smack in the middle of a previously established community, and is also very hard to obtain the necessary legal papers to renovate, rebuild, or expand a n existing church.
1 Stars
Actually to be extra clear on this point, renovations in older churches take place all the time. Mostly architectural or for maintenance purposes.

Here we go, thought I’d provide extra Information, AND from a local paper.

An explosion outside one of the Coptic community’s holiest churches in Cairo on Sunday night was the result of a homemade bomb, the Ministry of Interior confirmed yesterday in a statement.

The government said the bomb was a container inside a car parked in front the Lady Virgin Church in Helmiyat Al-Zatoun. Its explosion caused damage to a Fiat 128 parked in front of it belonging to one of the residents in the area. No one was hurt, and no damage was caused to the building.

Eyewitnesses told Daily News Egypt that the first explosion occurred at around 9 pm. According to the official statement, the vehicle, a Fiat 125 sedan, belonged to a Christian lawyer.

If I want to understand some Religion, mainly I will look to its bases (where it comes from).. just in case that I want to Learn about it.

I always hear comments here and there (Islam is the Religion of War, Islam is the Religion of Peace) or (Islam is the worst Religion EVER! , Islam is the NICEST Religion ever!) ... ect

For those who know Islam from its sources (Qur’an and *Sunnah*), they know whether ”what happens on the scene of events” is of Islam teachings or.. not.

And it is a SAD idea -for me- to come to Defend Islam, since Truth defends its self.. but, however, I can see that the topic which is being discussed in this page is about (Islam and treating non Muslims.. co-existance.. violance.. killing non Muslims.. hatred.. UnLoyality.. ect), if it is so, so I call everyone Who is interested to know about that TO SEARCH FOR ( What Islam Says regarding dealing with non Muslims ) we have only ONE Qur’an and even *Sunnah* is Protected by Allah also by the *Science of Hadeeth* (which identifies which of the Narrations are correct/acceptable and which is not, based on the chain of Narrators’ trustworthy - this is a HUGE science).. so, why not you go to an Islamic center nearby -for example- and ask them OUT LOUD (WHAT DOES ISLAM SAY ABOUT DEALING WITH NON MUSLIMS?) - despite how many smiles you’ll see and how Nice will Muslims try to go with you, but you only have an eye looking at what Qur’an and Sunnah TEACH about that.. since (me and you) can go on *pretending* to be ”Anything!”, but that’s just (me or you), but to learn about The True Religion of Allah.. it must be Authenticated, it’s not left for ”people” to decide what the Religion of God *should be*.

So, in brief after all what I wrote: Judge the people by the Book, and do not judge the book by the people.

We know exactly how Islam views every person other than Muslims, The order from the Quran is kill them all, if you can’t kill them all, then tax them into starvation and force them to convert. It is simple. All you have to do is read it. When you are looking at the sun and Deen tells you you are looking at the moon, you believe him because you want to, not because what he is saying is true.

You want to make it something it is not, so don’t blame the ones who are following, blame the one who lead.

Yea, I am in a pissy mood today Wayne. Because of this, The house passed it but there is talk of it not passing the senate.

H.R. 12: Paycheck Fairness Act
Introduced Jan 6, 2009
Sponsor Rep. Rosa DeLauro [D-CT]
Status Passed House (98% of Democrats supporting, 95% of Republicans opposing.)

Notice that 95% of the Religious right did not support it?

Yea, well if Equal Pay act of 1963 had been enforced this would not be an issue. That whole patriarchal, theist mindset is getting on my last nerve.

You are right, I shouldn’t lash out at them, it is not like the hamsters are going to get off the wheel any time soon. AHEM! Oh well, it made me feel better for a minute lol

Things like this are what let me know that the whole world is not crazy. These great kids figured out that just complaining was not going to get anything done. A lesson that a lot of adults would do well to learn. I hope it makes you smile too.

We could use more people like you running the world in order to instill a little common sence
Thanks for the link and yes children have more common sence than adults, but the older they get the more the mind forming
Nuya -you make me smile, when you verbally spank people that deserve it
Do be careful though because there are too many crazies in the world to deal with
Life is short so my recommendation is to hug and be around your love ones as much as life will permit
