Kefaya (Egyptian Arabic for “Enough!”) is also known as the Egyptian Movement for Change, the most famous opposers to the Egyptian regime, fighting the president and the possibility that he might ‘hand over’ the presidency to his son.
Though quite impressive at first, it has been stricken down with impotence as many things tend to in the country. Now, Kefaya is a representation of a frustration among the people, a message they wish to deliver yet never managed to, a sound of opposition, quickly hushed, and violently diminished
Kefaya, colloquially, is usually spoken in context of something that has been going on for too long. Kefaya, in the political arena of Egypt is now more like a taboo, among youth, it has become more of a joke, among average citizens, it’s a prayer.
